Quality Support and Safety |
The QSS department is a separate service unit that reports directly to the Superintendent and is independent of all programs and services whose operations it may be required to monitor. The primary goal of this unit is to ensure that individuals receive services and supports that have been identified in their Individual Plans, while at the same time ensuring services are delivered in a manner that supports the individual, their wishes, and ensures the health and safety of the individuals served. The responsibilities of the QSS department include the following: Major Unusual Incident: Responsible for establishing the procedures for the review and reporting of alleged abuse and neglect per Sections 5123.61 and 5126.31 of the Ohio Revised Code. Responsible for the review/report of Major Unusual Incidents in accordance with applicable rules of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Crisis Intervention: Responsible for establishing and implementing procedures to coordinate the involuntary removal of individuals from their residences, and provide on an as needed basis, technical support to County Board staff in developing crisis intervention strategies. Quality Assurance: Responsible for establishing and implementing a procedure for Quality Assurance reviews of consumers. Provider Monitoring: Responsible for establishing and implementing procedures to review all providers. Delegated Nursing Compliance: Responsible for establishing and implementing procedures for reviewing residential providers compliance with Delegated Nursing requirements. Waiting List Compliance: Responsible for establishing and implementing procedures to monitor the waiting list for all County Board programs. Monitors the waiting list to ensure County Board compliance with all applicable rules of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. |
